SYNOPSIS
A young couple, Olivier and Elena, traveling to Timbuktu suddenly find themselves stranded in the middle of the desert when their truck breaks down. Though they are supposed to deliver the truck to Mali, they are forced to stay in a bustling nearby oasis where, little by little, their lives begin to part: he, more and more involved with the inevitable complications of repairing the truck; and she, bored and curious, gradually becoming part of the local lives of the courageous and determined women who live there. The epicenter of exchanges in this little world is the call shop owned by a tall fascinating Berber Tuareg. He is to play a crucial role in Elena’s “awakening”. The story between Olivier and Elena becomes a metaphor of precarious couple relationships. A dialogue between two very different worlds. A beautiful message of hope and compatibility in our times.
