THE FILM
"Love means the courage to dream"
SYNOPSIS
Federico Moccia’s sensational box office hit "Scusa ma ti chiamo amore" (Sorry If I Love You), based on the teen cult author and director’s phenomenal bestseller, now continues in this new sequel "SCUSA MA TI VOGLIO SPOSARE" (SORRY I WANT TO MARRY YOU).
The love between Alex, a mature successful advertising agent, and Niki, now twenty, continues to deepen and blossom. It has now been three years since they vowed to love each other forever before their special rendezvous lighthouse. Despite their age difference, Alex is convinced Niki is the woman he wants to marry. And Niki, in the beginning, is overjoyed. Yet, as the crucial date approaches, mounting doubts, fears – and temptations too – suddenly make Niki do the unthinkable. She calls off the wedding.
Far from being the end of the couple’s love story, however, this could unexpectedly be the tender, courageous and amusing beginning of Niki and Alex’s "impossible" dream come true...

FEDERICO MOCCIA:
"To be One, yet without losing your own identity...
This is what I wanted to express..."
"To be One, yet without losing your own identity... This is what I wanted to express... The magic, but also the concreteness of reality. Since love is the beauty of a wonderful fairy tale, yet also the commitment to a project fulfilled together, one that grows stronger and stronger every day. Alex and Niki. Their age difference should not be denied, it would not be possible to ignore it, nor right. But this becomes the occasion to rediscover each day their unity and complicity while still remaining true to their respective identities. And then, the desire to make all of this an official promise, a vow to share with others and to be renewed each day.
Alex and the surprise of being madly in love with her. Those words in huge writing to cry out to the world all the force of his love. And she says yes. And then the difficulties that come with all important events, the organization, ideas, doubts, advice to listen to, the fatigue. Because the only sure thing you have is your love, something that must be protected from superficiality... the danger of not having understood each other completely, the sudden distances disguised as normality, absences, all the things that threaten the life of a couple. These too I also tried to express. Yet without ever losing sight of marriage as a celebration. Not just the ceremony, I mean, the reception, the sweet boxes, wedding lists, gifts, congratulations, and so forth. But a celebration of the heart, the joy of being together with those we love, the immense emotion of two people about to begin a journey together..." FEDERICO MOCCIA |
